I cant even recall anymore how I found this link on the Radix website but I was very satisfied with the result.
These give a better pictures of which cities I should research to find my Géczy roots.

Radix Forum Géczy family research
At this point I am fairly certain that one ancestor family of mine will have outstanding research records as they are told to be a noble family named Géczy. In general it is easier to find information on noble families and the data usually goes back way before the general public records.
Here is the direct link to this forum ==> http://www.radixforum.com/vezeteknevek/geczy/
(All of these posts are in Hungarian though. )
After skimming through the posts I posted my own introduction and request for help.
My main problem is that my grandfather and greatgrandfather are long gone by now and I am not certain I can gain any information from aunts or other relatives.
A little summary I do know about my father's family:
My grandfather was Tibor Géczy who lived in Dunakeszi, Pest county most of his life. As he died in 1978 I didnt had the chance to know him.
I know my chance is really slim to find a distant relative on such forum but I cant give up the hope totally...
As I was reading the posts I had to discover the Géczy family has many branches and some of them are differentiated by which city or county they lived in. Felsőgéczi and Garamszeghi are one of the main branches. All of these different branches cannot make their descendants jobs easier as by now only few of us know which branch our family might have come from.
Nevertheless I decided one of my goal will be to collect all possible data and share it with whoever is interested in it. I was actually pretty surprised that despite such a widely branched family I couldnt find a family website as of yet. ( I would love to find one for sure. )

Once a dream
I can still vividly recall a noment of a field trip in my childhood. I discovered and stared at a 7-8 feet tall painting meanwhile the tourguide was explaining to us about a noble family with several hundred years of family history. By now the exact place of the scene is lost in my memories, it could have been a castle in Fertöd Hungary or Castle Keszthely close to the Lake Balaton... this is not important anymore but I know this is the moment I can pinpoint as the birth of my interest toward finding my own family's history.
At the time my relatives thought this is only a childhood interest to know my grandma or grandpa or their parents. Every little piece of information I could get a hold of I recorded in an old notebook. I dedicated one single page for each of my ancestory. To this day I have the notebook, the time wasnt gracious to it and the pencil notes are slowly fading away in it but I still keep adding new information whenever my relatives jog their memories for my unrelenting request.
During the elementary school years one of my teachers draw my attention to a lady called Korponayné Géczy Julianna who wrote herself into Hungarian histrory. I might write a little post on her story later.
I invite you to follow my research diary here and you might catch the fever from me to do your own genealogy quest.
